about

Another One of Those Solstices channels the same mindset that the Equinox Series set out to do. Find and share music. You could call this "Vol. 3" in the series, considering it is the third compilation released by Sleeping Timmy in just over a year. When he first began this compilation, he reached out to his friends and peers to help him build the project. For this one, he reached out to musicians across the United States and more. There are musicians from Philly all the way to Chicago and even Australia. All with the mindset that they just want to share their music. Because music is something that is cross-cultural and speaks to everyone.

"Passing Stone" appears on the record 306 by Western Pacific. Western Pacific hails from Fremont, CA. Released in August 2015, 306 is a musical documentation of that first year in college, with all songs written and recorded in an apartment at SDSU.

"When You Surround Yourself With Artists, This is What You Get" appears on the self-titled debut from Logan & Lucille. This folk-pop duo comes from the land of Tucson, AZ and is made up of Logan Greene and Lucille Petty. This record was released May 2015 on Diet Pop Records.

"With An Ex" comes from Chicago act, Survival Float. His debut self-titled LP was released in June 2015. Getting his inspiration from artists such as Rufus Wainwright and Waron Zevon, frontman/song writer Jess Hall produced this record filled with piano pop melodies.

"Do I Ever Cross Your Mind", a Dolly Parton cover, appears on Todd Allen's solo record, "Awkward". This traveling musician comes from the land of California, where he recorded and released this record. Released in March 2015, "Awkward" is a folky but punk influenced sound that hits the nail in different ways.

"Our Little Dream" is a one off song from Timothy Ezekiel Bell featuring Kenan Hunter. Appearing on "Another One of Those Equinoxes Vol. 2", this South Carolina native returns with this ballad that mixes harmonies with that the wonderful piano/guitar "pop-ness" that Timothy knows real well.

"Diving for Doom" is the debut track for Billy Pilgrim. Here Billy, also known as Fred from Alfredo Improvisational Quartet, wrote this track accepting a new love for The Beach Boys. Accompanied in arrangements/instrumentation by Sleeping Timmy, this track is an impressive debut. Be on the look out for more Billy Pilgrim!

"You (Still Look Better When You're Around)" is track from musician/artist/podcast host Sleeping Timmy. This track is an oldie that has been updated for this release. Once released on his lo-fi record "Timmy Vol. 1", Timmy updated this to fit his tastes and personal recording style. Performing on all the instruments (including drums), this Grand Rapids, MI musician, shows his Kinks/Turtles inspiration of last summer in this track.
Be sure to check out his monthly podcast "Too Many People" on iTunes.

"Fixerman" is from the debut LP Tribute by Shelly The Cat. This album, which was released on LIPS Records, puts together ukulele pop like no other. The vocals are blended together with strong harmonies. Recorded with better quality than her debut EP, this album still captures the charm that makes Shelly The Cat so great. Check out Shelly the Cat on Facebook.

"The Experiment" is a song from Jennelle Christine, a Boise, ID native. Her song, from her debut record Hiraeth, gives a peaceful nature to her performance. Hiraeth was released in Summer 2015 and you can listen to it on Spotify or iTunes.

"Anna Lee", written by New York band Modern Trigger, comes from the album Coffee Coffee ANARCHY!. Released in Summer 2015, this album captures a punk vibe with an acoustic nature. You can find more on Modern Trigger on Facebook.

This two piece band features Dave Brown on drums and Craig Colburn on guitars and vocals. These members are also responsible for the "Friends on Friends" mixtape series which is available for free download.

"O Blue" is written by Tommy Plural, of The Plurals fame. This Lansing, MI musician released two solo EPs within the last couple of years. The latest one "Nothing Could Possiblye Go Wrong", released Fall 2014, features songs with an interesting fusion of styles and harmonies. All instruments are performed by Tommy and these EPs are a free download.

"Pretty for Me", the ukulele driven song from Maggie Mae, comes from her debut EP Tiny and Angry. Released in October 2015, this song packs a punch. Written by Maggie Donahue, this capital City musician uses interesting wording along with insane melodies to capture the ears.
